All about me!
Hey! It's so good to virtually meet you. I'm Beth (they/them) and I'm based in Catterick, North Yorkshire. I have 3 children, 78 houseplants, and a love of dungarees and trees! I've been involved in birth work for approximately 6 years now, starting with volunteering my time whilst I was taking courses. I like to say I'm an evidence based hippie, with a love of alternative remedies and birth rights alike.
My passion for birth advocacy began when I was pregnant with my first. Since then, I have immersed myself in education and experiences to help shape me as the birth worker I am today.
I have a particular interest in supporting people who want to birth outwith the guidelines and are looking for someone to advocate for them. I specialise in home and free births, occasionally attending births in birthing centres and labour wards. I also take special interest in neurodivergent parents and LGBTQIA+ families.
Having had three home births, one of them a freebirth, and attended many more, I am well versed and experienced in these, offering a wealth of knowledge for those choosing to birth this way. For people wanting to birth in hospital or birthing centres and looking for advocacy, I bring a diverse knowledge of birth rights, guidelines, and a fierce loyalty towards you and what you want for birth.
